My First Steps To Development.

For a few weeks I have been starting to develop my first two pages of my manga magazine on Phototshop using Macintosh's in Media.
I have put a lot of thought into what the main theme of the magazine will be and how effective it can be if used in actual retail.
Below,is my Photoshop piece I am deciding to go with:

Font And Experimentation With Mag Titles

In this section i will be planning and choosing which font is more suitable for my manga magazine but at the same time i will be experimenting with different titles as well!It was really hard to find the right and effective name because either they were already used or copyrighted but finally made up a few of them:

-  I like this font because it really suits the japanese theme by it looking traditional, secondly,it's very eye-catching and may attract loads of people who absolutely love japanese art.

-  I  also like this on how it's so cartoony and definitely not boring,but this may not look good now but later on when it has colour it will be surprisingly unrecognisable than the one you are looking at now!

-  I really like how it looks again very traditional like the font above and how it is laid out,i think that this will attract my main audience (teenagers).Also, this font will look much more effective in colour.



-  I have chose this specific title with this theme because it almost creates a humorous feel and also will attract much,much more of my target audience as the title is very effective and yet again eye-catching.

- I've chose this font for my mag along with my new title "MANGA FI"! I like this name because this can create a variety of effects on the the reader and main audience.
Also,it also can creates a variety of themes such as maybe futuristic or mysterious.

Target Market

My main target audience for my Anime and Manga comic will be for 13+ but mainly for teens that are into comics,arts and cartoons.

Furthermore,the comic is for teens that are interested in both Manga and Anime as well as teens who have never heard of it before.

Anime and it's Stereotypes
Firstly,Anime like every other form of entertainment has it's Stereotypes and mistakes and often portrays people and reality in a very different but yet comical concept!


-  Every martial art master is old and perverted (Most Anime series do this)


-  Fat girls are a myth! Even if our heroine complains at her weight we will never see her fat


-  Girls high schools are an institutes of beautiful girls who just want to have fun but story lines are slightly messed up in a way that is a bit confusing.


-  All Characters wear the same clothes every single day unless they either get blown up, beaten up or a brand new season of the anime starts.


-  The children who lack years of experience are always more powerful then the adults!

-  When it comes to gun battles in episodes,no one ever runs out of ammunition.This is unless they are cornered,outnumbered,outclassed or unconscious.

-   In anime,time stops for a superhero whenever he does something cool or impressive.But time slows down whenever friends and lovers are being killed and speeds up when there's an interesting fight scene. 

-   If you have been watching anime,then you would notice when bad guys take some time to die regardless of physical damage.Even when the bad guys and villains are killed so quickly they didn't even see it coming and takes them a while for them to realize they're dead.

-  Wooden or bamboo sword are just as sharp as metal swords,if not much sharper.

-  Bad guys always turn out to be family.

-   Everyone can also have other amazing physical abilities that are never explained.

-  Later on in episodes,there is always a hidden secret that completely changes the entire storyline.

-  Evil enemies must give a long lecture before making the final blow allowing enough time for the main character to recover.

-  In Anime series, there will always be an animal with an unnatural amount of intelligence.

-  Geniuses aren't actually that smart.

-  People always send a boy to do a man's job,in fact,they get the job done in half the time.

- In modern day anime,when a female character gets mad,such as seeing the male character with another girl,she becomes incredibly strong!
Despite her helpless look,she can lift 1000 ton objects to completely hurt the guy,also she can sometimes perform painful,humorous punishments like pinching his face so hard that it changes shape!

Ideas for what I would add in my Anime Comic:The Front Cover &Tutorial Page

My plan for my front cover of my Manga & Anime comic will be a bit different than usual.

Instead of creating an ordinary mag like this one.

But I do plan to make the comic One of A Kind!

By applying features that have never been put into a Manga & Anime magazine before, like adding in three pages of drawing tutorials of how to draw step-by-step their favorite and most popular manga characters,faces,facial expressions and body motions

What Is Anime And It's Terminology

Anime began at the start of the 20th century, when Japanese filmmakers experimented with the animation techniques also pioneered in France, Germany, the United States, and Russia. The oldest known anime in existence first screened in 1917 – a two-minute clip of a samurai trying to test a new sword on his target, only to suffer defeat. Early pioneers included Shimokawa Oten, Jun'ichi Kouchi, and Seitarō Kitayama.

By the 1930s animation became an alternative format of storytelling to the live-action industry in Japan. • OTAKU: in japanese means obbsesive fan or nerd however in the west it is a term commonly used for a die hard Anime fan
• SHOUJO: anime or manga aimed at females (cute animals and shirtless guys)
• SHOUNEN: anime or manga aimed at males (usually more violence and conveniant skirt lifting gusts of wind, or big robots and wars)
• YURI: girl on girl anime or manga
• YAOI: Boy on Boy anime or manga
• MECHA: robot anime or manga
• HENTAI: in japanese means pervert its anime and manga aimed at adults (basically porn)
• SUBS: anime thats in its original language with english subtitles (or what ever language is relevant)
• DUBS: anime that has english speaking voice actors voices dubbed over the original for english speaking audienceds
• RAW: anime thats unsubbed and undubbed
• FAN SERVICE: unnessecery shots that are for the amusement of fans, usually involing short skirts and windy weather or tight tops with little suppourt *wink*
• ECCHI: milder version of hentai similar to soft porn or erotica
